Ford is recalling 41,748 vehicles in the United States because of a potential problem affecting their front lighting systems.
The recall includes certain 2025 through 2027 Ford Expedition SUVs and 2026 Super Duty trucks, including F 250, F 350, F 450 and F 550 models.
The problem involves possible contamination beneath LED chips inside some headlight assemblies.
That could affect daytime running lights, parking lights and both low and high beam headlights.
Only a relatively small percentage of recalled vehicles are expected to contain the defective component, but reduced headlight performance can create a safety risk, particularly at night or during poor weather.
Owners are expected to begin receiving notification letters in November.
Dealers will inspect affected vehicles and replace defective headlights without charge where necessary.
US owners can also check their vehicle identification number through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recall database.
