Houthi forces say they launched missiles and drones at Saudi targets, including facilities around Riyadh.

Yemen’s Houthi movement said it launched a new wave of missile and drone attacks targeting military installations and airports in Saudi Arabia, raising fresh concerns over travel and regional security.

According to the Associated Press, Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree said King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh was among the locations targeted.

The Saudi led coalition reported intercepting at least one missile near the capital.

The claims came as fighting intensified in Yemen and regional tensions continued to affect energy markets, aviation and international shipping.

The Houthis did not provide independent evidence supporting all of their claims, and details surrounding the damage remained limited.

Any sustained threat to major Saudi airports could have consequences far beyond the region because Riyadh and other Gulf cities have become major international aviation hubs.

The developments are also being closely monitored by oil markets, which have already been reacting sharply to instability across the Middle East.
