A family vacation at a popular U.S. resort ended with two victims. A 27-year-old has been arrested and charged with killing her husband and little son.

A shocking event has occurred at the Great Wolf Lodge resort in Scotland, Pennsylvania, U.S.A., where a man and his three-year-old son have been found dead inside the hotel room. The main suspect is the child's mother, who currently faces two counts of murder.

According to NBC Philadelphia and court documents reported by the American media, 27-year-old Metallica Rose Harrison allegedly stabbed her husband, Charles Harrison, and their youngest son on 12 October.

Police were alarmed about 3:13 p.m., after the woman herself called 911 emergency service. During the call, she declared that she needed help and that her husband and son were no longer living.

When the police arrived in the hotel room, they found the bodies of two victims and the woman with wounds on her body. Two knives and several drugs were seized at the scene.

According to investigation documents cited by the Daily Voice, the family had stayed in the resort since September 21st and extended the reservation until 13th.

Security cameras had recorded the family entering the room together on the evening of October 11th. Investigators are trying to rebuild the events that followed.

During the media conference on 13 October, Monroe County Attorney Mike Mancuso described the occasion as a serious family tragedy.

The woman has been sent to the hospital for medical treatment and two counts of murder have been filed against her. The alleged motive has not yet been made public.

Meanwhile, the leaders of the Great Wolf Lodge have expressed shock at the event, stressing that it is a isolated family incident and that there is no danger for other visitors.

The resort is a popular destination for families, especially for the large indoor water park and children's activities.

Investigations continue, while authorities are expected to clarify the circumstances leading to the death of his 3-year-old father and son. The accused is deemed innocent until her guilt is proven in court.
