A person lost his life after an incident in one of the park's best-known attractions of Six Flags Over Georgia, near Atlanta. Witnesses say the victim fell off the speeding train, while police have launched investigations.

A tragic event took place on Monday, October 12th, at the popular Six Flags Over Georgia amusement park in the American state of Georgia, where one person has lost his life and four others have been injured during an incident related to the Goliath attraction.

According to CNN and the Associated Press, the incident occurred on Monday afternoon in the park located in Austwell, about 24 miles [24 km] northwest of Atlanta.

Local TV W SB-TV reported that a man had fallen from the Goliath attraction, one of the largest and fastest trains in the park. Witnesses quoted by American media have described panic moments while emergency teams intervened at the scene.

According to reports by 11Ali, witnesses claim the victim has been crashed several times with the structure of attraction during the fall. However, authorities have not yet officially confirmed the accident mechanism.

Cobb district police confirmed the death of one person and the injuries of several others. Local media report that the number of wounded is four.

After the incident, the Goliath attraction was stopped, and the remaining passengers on the train were evacuated by emergency personnel. The footage aired by local television helicopters showed rescue teams helping visitors down the security stairs.

Goliath is one of Six Flags Over Georgia's most popular attractions. Opened in 2006, it reaches speeds of up to 22 miles [183 km] an hour and has a peak height of about 200 feet [1 61 m].

In a statement to the American media, the Six Flags company expressed deep regret over the incident and condolences for the victim's family.

Company representatives said park personnel and local authorities reacted immediately and are co-operating fully with investigators.

The Cobb County Police's heavy-crime unit has taken over the investigation to determine the circumstances of death and causes of the incident.

The event comes at a time when the safety of aptitudes in the United States is again being noted.

According to the Associated Press, Six Flags Magic Mountain in California announced last month the final closure of the X2 attraction, following several indictments claiming visitors had suffered serious injuries during its use.

The victim's identity in Georgia has not been made public, while authorities are expected to provide further information after the end of the first stages of the investigation.

Whether the incident was caused by a technical defect, a problem with security systems or other circumstances is still unknown.
