Karoline Leavitt has landed a new high profile role following her departure from the White House, joining Fox News as an on air contributor beginning November 1.
Fox News Media announced the move Monday, saying the 29 year old former White House press secretary will provide political commentary and analysis across the network's programming.
"Karoline's firsthand experience in the White House and on the presidential campaign trail gives her a distinct understanding of today's political landscape," Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott said in announcing the appointment.
Leavitt said she was looking forward to bringing the perspective she gained inside the White House to the network's audience.
The appointment comes roughly two months after Leavitt stepped down as President Donald Trump's press secretary.
She served in the position from January 2025 until August 2026 and made history as the youngest person to serve as White House press secretary. Her tenure made her one of the administration's most recognizable public figures as she regularly defended Trump's policies during often contentious exchanges with reporters.
Leavitt said when leaving the administration that the demands of the position had become difficult to balance with raising her young family. Trump said at the time that she would remain an outside adviser after leaving the White House.
Her move also continues a familiar path from the White House briefing room to television.
Kayleigh McEnany, who served as Trump's press secretary during his first administration, later joined Fox News and currently appears on the network. Former Biden press secretary Jen Psaki similarly moved into television after leaving the White House.
Leavitt already has connections to Fox News. She interned at the network during the 2016 presidential election and has appeared frequently on its programming during her political career.
Her new position will officially begin November 1, putting one of Trump's most prominent former spokespersons back in front of a national audience just months after she left the White House.
