The heating oil is now expensive in Germany

Just one day after the price dropped to the lowest level of three weeks, German families are facing growth again. A typical message of 3,000 liters already costs about 5,000 euros.

The price of heating oil, known in Germany as Heizöl, has risen sharply Wednesday, erasing almost all the fall of the day before.

HeizOel24 reports that on October 7th, the average national price reached about 1.66 euros per litre, more than 3% more than a day ago. That means filling a reserve of 3,000 litres costs approximately 4,980 euros.

The increase comes immediately after Tuesday prices had affected the lowest rate in about three weeks.

According to HeizOel24, one of the main reasons is the return of pressure on international oil markets. Brent climbed again over $100 per barrel, while the price of gassoil, the product directly affecting Heizöl, rose sharply during the day.

Markets are reacting to certain developments simultaneously. HeizOel24 cites concerns about a storm in the Gulf of Mexico that could affect American production, new attacks on tanks on the Strait of Hormuz and American data showing lower reserves of crude oil than expected.

Prices vary significantly within Germany. In Berlin, HeizOel24 showed about 1.63 euros per litre, while in the Klin area, the price was 1.70 euros per litre.

Pressure on families is markedly greater than before this year's crisis. The NDR reports that heating oil is almost twice as expensive as before the start of the war with Iran, while the costs of new gas and electricity contracts have increased.

The approaching cold season is making the issue more sensitive. Many homeowners have been pushing orders hoping for discounts, but experts warn that empty reservoirs could force families to buy later, regardless of the price.
