Buenos Aires residents are enjoying a break from the rain on Sunday, but the calmer weather may not last long.
The forecast for Argentina's capital and the wider AMBA metropolitan area has changed, with meteorologists now expecting a wetter and more unsettled pattern during the new week.
According to Argentina's National Meteorological Service, Sunday brings partly cloudy conditions to Buenos Aires, with temperatures ranging from around 10°C to 21°C. Página/12 reports that Monday should remain mostly cloudy, with temperatures between 14°C and 22°C.
Meteored Argentina says temperatures climbed above 23°C in parts of the metropolitan area on Sunday after Saturday's rain left around 20 millimeters of precipitation.
But another change is approaching.
Meteored forecasts increasing instability during the middle of the week, with rain becoming more likely as humid conditions return to the region.
Current forecasts for Buenos Aires show a chance of light rain on Tuesday, increasing to around 80 percent on Wednesday. Temperatures could fall to around 18°C by Wednesday after reaching the low 20s earlier in the week.
Conditions could remain unsettled later in the week, with further rain possible and stronger southeasterly winds developing by Friday.
The rapidly changing forecast appears to be driving significant search interest in Argentina.
"Pronóstico del tiempo," Spanish for "weather forecast," climbed into Google's active search trends on Sunday evening, generating more than 2,000 searches within an hour.
For Buenos Aires residents, the message is simple: enjoy Sunday's calmer spring weather while it lasts. Umbrellas may be needed again very soon.
