Amazon is preparing to open one of its biggest shopping events of the year, and shoppers do not necessarily have to wait until Tuesday to start finding discounts.
Prime Big Deal Days will officially run on October 6 and 7, giving Prime members 48 hours of discounts across electronics, home products, fashion, beauty, toys and other categories. Amazon says millions of deals will be available during the event.
But the sale has effectively started early for some products.
The Verge reported Sunday that a growing number of early deals are already live, including discounts on speakers, smart home devices, tablets, televisions and other electronics.
Some discounts will change during the day
Amazon says its 2026 event will feature new batches of deals three times each day, with some products discounted by 55 percent or more. The company says many of those offers will represent its lowest prices of the year so far.
That means shoppers who see an attractive price before Tuesday face a familiar Prime Day question: buy now, or wait for the main event?
Business Insider reviewed pricing histories ahead of the sale and found that some early discounts were already strong enough to consider buying, while other products could be worth waiting for.
The sale reaches far beyond the US
Prime Big Deal Days is not limited to American shoppers.
Amazon says the event will be available to Prime members across major markets including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Japan and several other countries.
In Germany, Amazon says Prime members will get access to more than one million offers, with new deals appearing several times daily.
The timing is significant. Prime Big Deal Days lands weeks before Black Friday, effectively opening the race for holiday spending earlier in October.
For shoppers, however, the size of the advertised discount is not always the same as getting the best price. Checking previous prices and comparing the same product at competing retailers can help determine whether an early Prime deal is genuinely worth buying.
