Interest in Amazon Prime is climbing rapidly just days before one of the retailer's biggest shopping events of the year.
Google Trends showed more than 50,000 searches for "Amazon Prime" as shoppers looked for information about October Prime Day, early discounts and the start time for Prime Big Deal Days.
The timing is no coincidence.
Amazon has confirmed that Prime Big Deal Days 2026 will take place on October 6 and 7, giving Prime members 48 hours of exclusive discounts across more than 35 shopping categories.
When does October Prime Day start?
The event officially begins at 12:01 a.m. PDT on October 6 and continues through October 7.
Amazon says millions of deals will be available across electronics, fashion, beauty, home products, toys and other popular categories.
Shoppers do not have to wait until Tuesday, however.
A range of early Prime Big Deal Days offers are already live, allowing Prime members to begin shopping before the main 48 hour event starts.
Amazon says new limited time offers will also appear throughout the event. Its "Today's Big Deals" promotions are scheduled to drop three times per day, with some discounts reaching 55% or more.
Why Amazon Prime is trending now
The approaching sale has triggered a wave of shopping coverage across major media outlets and increased consumer interest in early deals.
Forbes reports that retailers and deal trackers are already monitoring discounts ahead of the October 6 opening, particularly across electronics, home appliances and other high demand categories.
The event is effectively Amazon's second major Prime shopping period of 2026. The company's main Prime Day event took place from June 23 through June 26.
Prime Big Deal Days is positioned differently, arriving just as consumers begin preparing for the holiday shopping season.
Who can access the deals?
Most of the headline Prime Big Deal Days discounts are reserved for Amazon Prime members.
The event is also international. Amazon has confirmed Prime shopping events across major markets including the United States, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Australia and the United Kingdom, although offers and availability can vary by country.
With the sale now only days away and early discounts already appearing, search interest could continue rising as shoppers begin comparing prices and deciding whether to buy now or wait for the main event.
For consumers planning a major purchase, that distinction could matter. Some early offers may already represent significant discounts, while other products could receive deeper reductions once Prime Big Deal Days officially begins.
