Artificial intelligence changing the fight against cyberattacks

Cyber security companies are demanding greater investments in tools based on artificial intelligence. Technology may help detect threats, but it is also being used to make attacks more sophisticated.

Artificial intelligence is changing the way companies and institutions protect their digital systems. As organisations use automated tools to identify suspicious activities, attackers can exploit the same advances to improve fraud and accelerate their operations.

The executive director of Thale's defence technology company, Patrice Caine, has stressed the importance of investments in the AI-based cyber security. According to Reuters, he argued that technology should be used more vigorously to protect critical systems.

New tools can analyse large amounts of data, discover unusual models and help security teams react faster. This is especially important for banks, hospitals, energy companies and public institutions.

Carmatization, however, does not eliminate all dangers. Systems can provide incorrect alarms, while important decisions require human oversight and constant control.

Industry experts are emphasising the need for technology combined with employee training, system updates and clear plans for response to incidents.

In an increasingly dependent world on digital services, cyber security is becoming an essential part of each organization's strategy.
