The American giant is preparing for new activity in New York, and reports talk about devices that could change the way we control our homes.

Apple has announced a new event on October 13th 2026 in New York, promoting expectations for the presentation of new devices for intelligent homes.

According to The Verge, the event is named"Welcome home", suggesting that the American company can focus on products linking household equipment to the Apple ecosystem.

At the center of the spotlight, there is expected to be a new, screened device about six inches [six inches], which can be placed on the wall or on the table and serve as a house control center.

Bloomberg has reported that the device, known as J490, is part of a project Apple has been preparing for several years.

Through it, users are expected to be able to control lighting, security cameras, temperature and other internet-related equipment.

One reported feature is personalizing information according to family members. However, final functions have not yet been officially confirmed.

Apple is also expected to present a updated version of HomePod mini and a new Apple TV device.

According to Bloomberg, products could include more powerful processors and more advanced integration with the virtual assistant Syria.

In the meantime, The Verge reports that Apple is co-operating with LG to develop some smart devices, including security cameras, thermostats, video bells and door - closing electronic systems.

Some of them are expected to support Matter and Threead standards, which enable communication between equipment of various producers.

This development can be especially important for users who have equipment from different companies and want to control them through a single system.

Apple will face Amazon and Google competition, which for years offer housing automation equipment.

However, prices, international availability and the final list of products remain unknown.

The 13 October event is expected to provide answers to these issues and show how far Apple intends to go to the market of intelligent homes.

For consumers, the presentation can be especially interesting if the company manages to create a system that connects phones, televisions and household equipment in a single experience.
