The new Marvel Television series will premiere on Disney+ on October 14, 2026. Paul Bettany will return as Vision, continuing a story that began in WandaVision and developed further through Agatha All Along.
Marvel has described VisionQuest as the final chapter in that television trilogy. The series is expected to explore Vision’s identity following the events of WandaVision, where a rebuilt version of the android regained access to his original memories before disappearing.
Ultron’s return is likely to attract significant attention. The artificial intelligence villain was last seen as the main threat in the 2015 film Avengers: Age of Ultron. Although the Avengers destroyed his physical forms, the character’s digital nature always left open the possibility of a comeback.
Spader’s involvement raises several important questions. Marvel has not confirmed whether Ultron will return as a physical villain, a digital consciousness or part of Vision’s memories.
The cast also includes James D’Arcy, Orla Brady, Emily Hampshire, Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Ruaridh Mollica. Terry Matalas, known for his work on Star Trek: Picard, serves as showrunner.
Marvel confirmed the premiere date and principal cast through its official VisionQuest announcement.
The series could become an important bridge between Marvel’s streaming stories and its larger cinematic universe. Vision remains closely connected to the Avengers, Wanda Maximoff and the creation of Ultron.
Whether the villain returns as an enemy, an uneasy ally or something more complicated remains unknown. What is clear is that VisionQuest may bring one of Marvel’s most important unfinished stories back into focus.
