A man who tries to survive after the invasion of Earth by aliens and a talking cat is at the center of a new series developing for the American platform Peach.
It's about"Dungéon Crawler Carl", writer Matt Diniman's bestseller television adaptation, which has created a large fan community.
According to Peachock, history follows Carl, a former U.S. Coastary member who survives a global disaster and ends up in a deadly alien-organised game.
His companion is Princess Donut, a cat with a strong personality that speaks and becomes part of dangerous challenges.
But what distinguishes history is how violent scenes, monstrous creatures, and absurd situations combine.
The American magazine Collider has called attention to this unusual combination, arguing that maintaining the balance between horror and humor will be one of the main challenges of television adaptation.
The series will be realised with real actors and visual effects, while the executive producer is Seth MacFarlane, the renowned creator of the *Family Guy*.
Also on the creative team are Chris Yost, known for working at *Thor: Ragnaroc* and Eric Heisser, film screenwriter *Arrival*. According to The Wrap, both will lead the creative work of the series.
One confirmed detail is the return of Jeff Hays, the speaker of audio books, who will give the voice to Princess Donut's cat.
The books of the *Dungéon Crawler Carl* have attracted readers to a world that functions according to video games rules, where characters face levels, monsters and increasingly dangerous challenges.
It is this structure that makes television adaptation an ambitious project, as producers must create a fantastic world without losing the satirical character of history.
Peachock officially confirmed the show's implementation, but he still didn't announce the premiere date or even the complete tape.
For fans, waiting continues as it remains to be seen how one of the most unusual stories of modern fiction will take life on the screen.
