Broadcasting platforms change global competition for films, series

Digital platforms are continuing to change the way movies are produced, distributed, and consumed. International competition is pushing companies to invest in original content and new markets.

The global entertainment market is changing as transmission platforms compete to attract and maintain subscribers. Digital services have given products from different countries the opportunity to reach audiences that were once difficult to deal with by traditional distribution.

The materials in various languages have become part of international catalogues, while the titra and the duplication make the content more accessible to the global public. This has created opportunities for the film industry in Asia, Europe, Latin America and other regions.

However, companies face high production costs and strong competition. To preserve the subscribers, they must provide quality and distinctive content, while simultaneously setting prices that consumers are willing to pay.

For the public, change means more choices, but also an increasingly fragmented market, where movies and serials can be distributed on different platforms.
