Florida State exploded for 38 unanswered points as quarterback Ashton Daniels produced a record breaking performance against Virginia.

Florida State delivered one of its most dominant performances of the season, crushing Virginia 38:7 in Tallahassee as Ashton Daniels produced a historic night.

Virginia actually struck first, taking a 7:0 lead in the opening quarter. From that point, however, the game completely changed.

Florida State scored the next 38 points and prevented Virginia from scoring again.

Daniels was at the center of the turnaround. The Seminoles quarterback rushed for 136 yards and five touchdowns, setting a Florida State single game record for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback. He also completed 12 of 19 passes for 183 yards.

His biggest moment came in the third quarter when he broke free for an spectacular 81 yard touchdown run that pushed Florida State's advantage even further.

The Seminoles finished with 464 total yards compared with only 205 for Virginia.

Florida State's defense was equally impressive. According to Tomahawk Nation, the Seminoles recorded 10 sacks and 12 tackles for loss against a Virginia offense that had entered the game averaging more than 40 points per contest.

The victory also carried extra significance after Virginia defeated Florida State 46:38 in overtime last season.

Florida State now turns its attention to Louisville, with the Seminoles scheduled to travel there for their next ACC matchup.

For FSU fans, however, the biggest story from Saturday may be Daniels. His five touchdown performance has placed his name in the Florida State record book and helped ignite rapidly growing search interest around the Seminoles.
