Chicago has built a commanding fourth quarter lead over New York at Soldier Field as the Jets struggle to generate offense in one of Sunday's most searched NFL games.

The Chicago Bears are closing in on a statement victory over the New York Jets, taking control of their Week 4 matchup at Soldier Field while holding New York to just six points deep into the fourth quarter.

Chicago leads 20 to 6 with the game still in progress, as a dominant Bears rushing attack and a suffocating defensive performance have left the Jets searching for answers.

Kyle Monangai has been at the center of Chicago's offensive success. The running back has surpassed 100 rushing yards and scored both of the Bears' touchdowns, including a five yard run during the third quarter that stretched Chicago's advantage.

Quarterback Tyson Bagent has also moved the offense efficiently, throwing for more than 200 yards as Chicago accumulated more than 400 total yards.

New York, meanwhile, has struggled badly to move the football.

The Jets had fewer than 100 total yards entering the latter stages of the fourth quarter, with quarterback Geno Smith finding little room against Chicago's defense.

One historic moment did arrive for New York.

Minkah Fitzpatrick intercepted Bagent during the second quarter, ending an extraordinary 20 game interception drought for the Jets. NFL.com reports that New York had not recorded an interception since Week 18 of the 2024 season.

The Jets became the first NFL team since interceptions began being officially tracked in 1933 to complete an entire season without recording one in 2025.

Fitzpatrick's interception gave New York excellent field position and eventually produced a field goal, but the Jets were unable to turn the momentum into a sustained comeback.

The matchup also carries an intriguing coaching storyline.

Jets head coach Aaron Glenn and Bears head coach Ben Johnson previously worked together as coordinators with the Detroit Lions before taking their current jobs.

Chicago entered Sunday at 2 and 1, while New York arrived at Soldier Field with a 1 and 2 record.

Interest in the matchup has exploded online. Google Trends shows more than 200,000 searches for "Jets vs Bears" in the United States, making it one of Sunday's hottest sports searches.

With the fourth quarter still underway, Chicago is firmly in control, but the final score has yet to be decided.
